Coronavirus pandemic situation in the country has been considerably under control in the present time. This has happened due government’s extensive vaccination drive and other time befitting measures.

Bangladesh is currently administering four types of Covid vaccines without joining the trial of anyone. Health experts opine that conducting a comprehensive study to know their comparative performances and the longevity of antibodies they produce is needed.

An inclusive study will help understand which vaccine is most suitable and effective in Bangladesh as the efficacy of vaccines varies from country to country and race to race. Through a widespread study, we’ll be able to know whether the vaccines can give our people the necessary protection. If we find any vaccine is not working well, then we can stop collecting that particular vaccine. We’re now blindly procuring the vaccines without knowing how they are working.

People still need to maintain health and hygiene rules such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and washing hands to prevent the spread of the pandemic coronavirus from person to person, even after getting vaccines. Bangladesh should continue vaccination with this trench of vaccine that would help improve immunity and resistance. The coronavirus pandemic has already done massive damage to our country, and the light at the end of the tunnel has now emerged from the quick availability and distribution of a safe, effective vaccine.

Alongside the imported vaccines, we believe our locally produced vaccine will also guarantee the supply we need to protect the country’s people rapidly and in large numbers. Our priority should be to look at all possible sources of the vaccine and met our primary goal of vaccinating the vulnerable groups. Our country has many big pharmaceutical companies, which are capable of producing the vaccine and they should be ready to produce in this hour of need.
