Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has called upon affluent people to extend a helping hand to distressed people during the biting winter season.

"While many of us are fortunate enough to experience the beauty of winter wrapped in warm garments, there are many who suffer from the freezing cold due to a lack of adequate clothing," he said.

"It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the less fortunate among us are not left to suffer in these chilly winter conditions," he said.

Faruque made the call while distributing warm clothes, including blankets and sweaters, among the underprivileged individuals on the premises of the Safiuddin Ahmed Foundation at Debipur in Thakurgaon today, said a press release.

He encouraged affluent individuals, businesses, and community members to contribute to this noble cause by donating gently used or new warm clothes.

"Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of people struggling to stay warm this winter. Let's come together as a community to make this season a little brighter for everyone," he added.
