A dua mahfil, relief distribution and mass feast were organised on the occasion of the death anniversary of the late Zarina Sikder, mother of late valiant freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder, late chairman of the National Bank Limited and Sikder Group and one of the organisers of the great Liberation War.
Director and Chairperson of the Executive Committee of National Bank Limited Parveen Haque Sikder, MP, Executive Director of Sikder Medical College Md. Salahuddin Khan and Dr. Mendy Sikder were present at the prayer mahfil organised on the Monowara Sikder Medical College and Hospital premises at Vedharganj, Shariatpur district.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank Shah Syed Abdul Bari conducted the dua mahfil. Special prayers were also offered for the late valiant freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder, said a press release.
After the prayers, Director and Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the bank Parveen Haque Sikder distributed blankets and cash among the poor, sports materials among the students of local schools and warm clothes among the orphans. A mass feast was organised for about 15,000 people on the occasion.
Deputy Managing Director of the Bank Syed Rais Uddin, Head of Human Resources Department Sheikh Akhtar Uddin Ahmed and other officials and employees of the bank were also present on the occasion.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Vedarganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanvir-al-Nasif, former president of Upazila Awami League Bir Muktijoddha Mannan Radi, Damudya Upazila Chairman Md. Alamgir Majhi, Officer-in-Charge of Vedarganj Police Station and many others.
