In observance of Sheikh Russel Day, Chairperson of Barind Multipurpose Development Authority, former MP Begum Akhter Jahan offered floral tribute at the portrait of Sheikh Russel and observed his birth anniversary by cutting cake at BMDA premises on Monday. Later, a discussion meeting was held where BMDA Chairperson Begum Akhter Jahan attended as the chief guest. Officials and staff of BMDA were present at the meeting.
In observance of the Sheikh Russel Day, BMDA Chairman also inaugurated transplantation of saplings of 10,000 palm-tree at Paba of Rajshahi, Natore, Sapahar of Naogaon, Pirganj of Rangpur, Badarganj upazila and Kurigram district through virtual programme.
After the Zohr prayer BMDA Chairperson offered Munajat for Sheikh Russel and his family members at BMDA Juma Mosque.
The programme of Sheikh Russel Day also included discussion, recitation of poems and rendering songs by the officials, employees and their offsprings.
