Rohingya leader stabbed to death

A Rohingya community leader (Rohingya Majhi) has been stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at No. 15 Jamtoli camp under Palongkhali union at Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rafik, a resident of the Jamtoli camp.

Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ukhiya police station, said that some unidentified miscreants stabbed Mohammad Rafik at the camp around 7:00pm on Saturday when he was talking to some locals. The miscreants fled the scene. 

He was rushed to MSF Hospital at the camp where doctors declared him dead.

The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said the OC.

The OC also said that they are trying to odentfiy the killers and arrest them.
