Man shot dead in Cox’s Bazar

A man named Ruhul Quader (35) was shot dead in Kalarmarchhara of Cox's Bazar's Maheshkhali on Monday night.

Deceased Ruhul was the president of Bangabandhu Manab Kalyan Parishad’s Kalarmarchhara union unit.

The man was declared dead when he was taken to Chakaria Hospital after being shot. The doctor on duty there, declared him dead.

Maheshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Haye confirmed the matter at 11:15 pm on Monday. Ruhul Quader was the son of Mohammad of Office Para village adjacent to Kalarmarchhara Bazar and younger brother of Kalmarchhara Union Juba League General Secretary Md Abbas. OC Abdul Haye said, “I assume that he might have been killed over a dispute to spread domination. The incident took place around 10:30 pm on Monday.”

Cox's Bazar Assistant Superintendent of Police Zahidul Islam said police were working to arrest those involved in the killing, as well as to unravel the mystery of the incident after arriving at the scene.

Police have also recovered the body and sent it to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
