Khan Brothers fined Tk 60,000 in Katiadi for fuel fraud

Messrs. Khan Brother’s Filling Station has been fined Tk 60,000 for giving less fuel oil, petrol and octane at Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj.

Hridoy Ranjan Banik, assistant director of the Kishoreganj Consumer Rights Protection Department, conducted a raid at the Katiadi bus stand on Monday afternoon to collect the fine.

At the time of the raid, that filling station was stealing 5 liters of petrol and octane per 300 liters of fuel.  Kishoreganj Consumer Rights Protection Department imposed a fine of Tk 60,000 for under-supply.  Meanwhile, Mahadev Mistanna Bhandar has been fined Tk 2,000 for violating consumer interests.

Kishoreganj District Sanitary Inspector Sankar Chandra Pal, Katiadi Municipality Sanitary Inspector Didarul Alam Russell and other members of Katiadi Model Police Station were present in the operation.

Hridoy Ranjan Banik, Assistant Director, Kishoreganj District Consumer Rights Protection Department, said, “We will continue our campaign against organizations that violate consumer rights through adulteration and fraud.”
