The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has paid respect to Group Captain (retd) Shamsul Alam's coffin.
Shamsul Alam, Bir Uttom, was the brave fighter of “Kilo Flight” - the Mukti Bahini combat aviation formation during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
He passed away in Dhaka on 8 December at the age of 74.
“Forever Missed, But Will Never Be Forgotten”, the High Commission wrote in it's official Facebook page after an official placed the wreath from the High Commissioner as a mark of respect and remembrance.
"He was among the numerous Muktijoddhas whose sacrifices, along with those of Indian soldiers who fought with them during the Liberation War of 1971,  continue to inspire and reinforce the close bonds of friendship and solidarity between India and Bangladesh."
