DSCC demolishes 11 illegal buildings

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has conducted an eviction drive for the second day in a row with the aim to make the environment of Dhanmondi Lake batter and work for the construction of walkways.

The operation was led by Mohammad Muniruzzaman, property officer of the city corporation.

In the second day of the operation, the mobile court of DSCC has evicted the illegal extensions of 9 buildings including one under construction installation of Amin Mohammad Foundation Limited with holding number 51 at Dhanmondi’s 15 R/A Road. During this time, after demolishing most of the illegal extensions of an under construction facility of Akash Development Ltd. at holding No. 47, the housing development company gave a written statement promising to demolish the illegal extensions of holding No. 49 and 'Space Lake Castle' within the next 7 days. They have been provided one week time to make changes to the extensions. Regarding the operation, South City Property Officer Md. Moniruzzaman said, "Today we have conducted the operation for the second day with the aim of constructing a walkway from 32 R/A to 27 no road’s Sampan adjacent to the Dhanmondi Lake.

Russell Sabrin, Chief Property Officer of DSCC, Marina Nazneen, Regional Executive Officer of Zone-1, Mithun Chandra, Regional Engineer of Zone-1 and other officials and employees of DSCC were present during the operation.
