Covid claims 6 lives in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered six deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Sunday. The total number of deaths rose to 28,028 with one addition to the latest figure.

The country recorded 329 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,579,325, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.

The current positivity rate stands at 1.52 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.20 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country. Of the six deceased two were women and four were men. Around 21,612 samples were tested across the country till 8am Sunday.

Some 288 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,544,150 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.78 percent.

As of Sunday, 5,320,259 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 270,094,577 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
