Bangladesh registered four more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Saturday. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,047 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 122 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,580,872, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the current positivity rate dropped below 1 percent.
The current positivity rate stands 0.87 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.05 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, added the release.
Among the deceased, three were male and one was female. Of the deceased, two were from Khulna and one each from Dhaka and Barisal division.
A total of 13,971 samples were tested across the country till 8am Saturday.
Some 144 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,545,403 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.76 percent. As of Saturday, 5,363,801 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 274,079,638 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
