Three people died after being electrocuted in Churkuta village of Bishalpur union under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Budu Mahato, 50, son of Birju Bhuiyan, Palash Mahato, 35, son of Bimal Mahato and Khitishi Mahato, 40, son of Chan Mahato, residents of the same area. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sherpur police station Shahidul Islam said that Budu got electrocuted when he came in contact with a electric wire while cleaning his backyard in the morning at around 10am. The wire was connected to an illegally established temporary electric line of Budu's house. Palash, Khitish got electrocuted when they tried to save Budu. Palash and Budu died on the spot and Khitish died on the way to the local health center.
