Zero Covid death for third consecutive day

Bangladesh registered no death from Covid-19 yet again in 24 hours till 8am Saturday. The total number of deaths remains at 29,122.

The country recorded 56 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,951,714, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.

The current positivity rate stands 0.88 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.10 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.

Experts believe that the relentless vaccination campaigns conducted at regular intervals played a huge role in bringing down the impact of the deadly virus.

According to them, the country has reached a systematic result due to the efforts of all in tackling the deadly virus.

A total of 6,367 samples were tested across the country till 8am Saturday. 

Some 717 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,882,914 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 96.47 percent.

As of Saturday, 6,172,034 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 490,185,424 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
