Youths responsible for building developed Bangladesh: Razzaque

“From the language movement of 1948 to the nine-month liberation war of 1971 - our freedom struggle is an epic. And Bangabandhu is the protagonist and hero of this epic. Bangabandhu has worked all his life for the welfare and humanity of the people of this country and has dedicated his life. We, the freedom fighters, went to the war of liberation because we carried the ideology of Banga­bandhu and love for humanity.”

 Agriculture Minister and Dr Md Abdur Razzaque said this while speaking as the chief guest at a gathering of freedom fighters, commemoration of the liberation war and discussion meeting on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence at the Dhanbari Upazila Parishad in Tangail on Saturday. Dhanbari Upazila Administration organized the event.

 Addressing the students, the Agriculture Minister said, "When you grow up, you will read Bangabandhu's biography, incorporate Bangabandhu's ideals in your life and make it a reality." Bangabandhu dreamed of a prosperous Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty. Bangabandhu's dream will not be fulfilled if we do not build a prosperous Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty. You will come forward to realize this dream of Bangabandhu. The responsibility of establishing a developed and prosperous Bangladesh, belongs to the next generation.

 The freedom fighter Dr Abdur Razzak further said that the heroic freedom fighters are a source of pride and honor for this country and for all. They sacrifice their lives and went to the war of liberation. We liberated this country under the leadership of Bangabandhu, in which the freedom fighters have a huge role. Therefore, he praised the freedom fighters and said that the country will remember them always.  

Tangail Deputy Commissioner Ataul Gani, Superintendent of Police Kaiser, Dhanbari Upazila Chairman Harunar Rashid Hira, Upazila Executive Officer Aslam Hossain, Municipality Mayor Moniruzzaman Bakal, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Mir Farooq Ahmad, Upazila Vice Chairman Shamsul Huda, Khandaker Jeb-un Nahar and others were present.

Earlier, the Agriculture Minister inaugurated a one lakh tree planting programme on the premises of Upazila Parishad in Dhanbari. The programme was organized by the Green World Organization of Tangail on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence and its own epoch.

Later in the afternoon, the Minister joined the youth festival as the chief guest on the occasion of 19th anniversary of 'Taruner Hat' at Dhanbari Government College ground.
