A young man named Saju (23) has been accused of trying to rape a 5-year-old child in Narottampur Union of Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali by tempting her with Cvit tablets. The accused youth is on the run since the incident.
Kabirhat police station OC Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter on Tuesday morning. The incident took place in Mirzanagar village of Narottampur union. Accused Saju is the son of Bashar Amin of that village, he is an electrician by profession.
The victim's mother said that her baby daughter was playing in front of Sajud's house on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Saju took him inside the room with 2 civets. Saju tried to rape her by removing her clothes there. The child slipped out of her hands and ran to her room and told her mother about the incident. Later, when he informed the others of the house, Saju ran away. The child was rescued by the family members and admitted to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital.
Noakhali General Hospital Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Syed Mohi Uddin Abdul Azim confirmed the matter and said that the victim is currently undergoing treatment. His necessary tests have been done.
Kabirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said that the police were sent to the spot as soon as the incident came to light. The police are also in touch with the victim's family at the hospital. Legal action will be taken based on their complaints.
