A young man was hacked to death at Rupali Abashik area attacked by an alleged criminal gang of Bandar upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Merajul Islam,23, son of Ajharul Islam, resident of Saleh Nogor village of Bandar upazila.
Police and the eyewitness sources claimed that a criminal gang comprising 4-5 masked people chopped Merajul at his Ayman wielding workshop. Al-Amin, the worker of Ayman workshop was also injured in the attack.
Locals rescued Meraj and rushed to Dhaka medical college hospital where an on duty physician declared him dead.
Officer in Charge of Bandar police station Abu Bakkar Siddik said that a suspect accused was arrested and the raid is on to capture others.
A murder case was filed with Bandar police station in this connection.
