A Jhalokati court has sent Jubayer Adnan, a scout member accused in the attack and eve-teasing case on Nasreen Akhter Sara, a college student with a gold teenage title, to jail.
Jubayer Adnan surrendered to the court Jhalokati Senior Judicial Magistrate on Tuesday morning and applied for bail. Judge ASM Tareq Shams denied the bail application and ordered to send him to jail.
According to the case stamen, Jubayer Adnan, a resident of Ponabalia Union in Jhalokati Sadar Upazila, had been proposing love to Nasreen Akhter Sara. When she did not agree to this, Jubayer got angry with her and went to the house of the elder sister of the girl on October 2 and carried out a surprise attack. At one stage, the teenager lost consciousness and Jubayer fled. On the same day, Nasreen Akhter Sara filed a case against Jubayer.
Nasreen Akhter Sara went on a hunger strike in front of Jhalokati Sadar Police Station on October 6 demanding the arrest of Jubayer Adnan. Later, the girl went on a hunger strike after the police assured her arrest.
