Police recovered a body of a youth named Shaniram Malo (32) from Rajnagar village of Atigram union in Sadar upazila of Manikganj district.
The body was recovered around 10:30 am on Wednesday and sent to 250-bed Manikganj Morden District Hospital morgue post mortem examination.
The deceased was a son of Hari Malo of Rajnagar village.
Joynal Abedin, a local ward member of Atigram Union, said Shaniram Malo used to work as a laborer in a sweet shop in Manikganj district town. He had been missing since Tuesday night.
Later in the morning, local people found the body lying on a farm beside the house in the morning and informed police. Additional Superintendent of Police of Manikganj Sadar Circle Bhaskar Saha confirmed the matter and said on information, police from Sadar Police station, rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body from there.
Witnesses said that the body bore sevarel marks of injuries, which proved that Shaniram Malo was tortured to death.
Police could not find out the reason behind the killing, immediately. However, previous enmity might be the reason, the Add. SP suspected.
A case was lodged with Sadar Police Station in this connection.
