Youth murdered in Kishoreganj, 3 held

A youth named Vijay, 22, was stabbed to death by his opponent due to previous hostilities over establishing supremacy at the area. 

Opponents stabbed Vijay with a sharp knife on Monday (November 9) afternoon on the streets of the Nagua First intersection area. He died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at night. The deceased is son of Abdur Rahman of Nikli upazila.

According to police and local sources, the two groups at Akhrabazar and Nagua areas of the district town have been fighting for establishing supremacy at the area for a long time. There were frequent attacks took place between them. 

As part of hostility, a young man named Billal, 25, stabbed Vijay with his group. He was taken to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital on Monday afternoon and was shifted to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Vijay was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as his condition was critical. 

Vijay later died while undergoing treatment. 

The miscreants attacked several houses in Akhrabazar area at night. Upon receiving the news, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique said the operation to arrest those involved in the incident was continuing. Three people have already been detained for questioning. Names are not being released for the sake of investigation.
