Youth killed over lent money dispute in Nabinagar

A youth was stabbed to death by his opponent while trying to get money at Kacharibari Mor at Sreerampur village under Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria on Friday. At that time, two others were seriously injured.
The deceased was identified as Zahid Hasan Sani, 28, son of army officer (Rtd) and freedom fighter Joynal Abedin, hailed from Bholachong Palpara under 8 No. Municipal Ward of the upazila.
Police arrested a youth named Robin in this connection. The police sent the body of Sani and sent to the hospital for autopsy.
The injured are, Robel Mia, son of Abdul Qadir Mia and Mizanur Rahman, son of Moslem Mia, were admitted to Nabinagar Health Complex in critical condition.
Sani's father Joynal Abedin filed a murder case with Nabinagar Police Station.
According to locals, Sani was looking for money regarding business transactions to Jeevan Miah, son of Ismail Mia of Sreerampur village of the Upazila. There were several young men with him at that time. During this time, there was a dispute between the two.
At one stage Jeevan Mia and his men attacked a rival with domestic weapons and three others including Sani and left them seriously injured. With a critical condition, locals rescued them and brought them to Nabinagar Health Complex, where duty doctor declared Sani dead.
In this connection, Additional Superintendent of Police (Nabinagar Circle) Mehedi Hasan said police had visited the spot. Killing might occurred due to the payment of dues.
However, after the investigation, the cause of murder will be known, he added.
