A 23-year-old youth named Sayed Hossain died in a tragic road accident early Friday on the Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway near Auliapur Board Office in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.
The accident occurred around 5:30 AM when a goods-laden Mahindra vehicle lost control. In an attempt to save himself, Sayed, the vehicle's helper, jumped from the moving vehicle and was run over by its wheels, dying on the spot.
Boda Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Hafizur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating that the vehicle may have lost control while giving side to another. The driver remained unharmed.
Sayed was a resident of Purbo Mallikpur village in Kaharole upazila of Dinajpur and the son of Jomser Ali. His body was recovered and handed over to the family. Police have taken necessary legal steps regarding the incident.
