A youth was killed as wall of an under-construction building collapsed at Chandranagar Bazar Road under Bayezid Thana in Chattogram on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam Hridoy, 26, son of Babul Hossain, hailed from Noakhali.
Senior Officer of Bayezid Fire Service Station Kamruzzaman said a youth was killed in Textile Residential area of the district at around 8:00am. On information, the body was recovered.
Chattogram District Administration donated Tk 25 thousand to the victim’s family. It also asked to authorities concerned to take legal steps in this regard. However, the other part of the risky wall was demolished after the incident.
Most of the areas in the port city were waterlogged due to the heavy shower caused by cyclone Remal.
