A youth was hacked to death by miscreants at Dhopaghat moor in Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh on Wednesday night following previous enmity.
The deceased was identified as Humayun Kabir, 25, son of Abdul Majid of Dhopaghat Village.
Police and locals said Humayun had a long standing dispute with Nayan’s family. Nayan and his brother resisted Humayun at the area around 10:00pm while he was going to home and chopped him severely.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Officer-in-Charge of Gafargaon Police Station (PS) Anukul Sarker said accused Nayan and his associates went into hiding after the incident.
A case was filed with the PS in this connection.
