RAB-7 members arrested a youth named Mohammad Amir Hossain Prakash Sagar (22) with a foreign weapon from Baluchhara area of Bayazid Bostami Police Station in Chattogram city.
RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director Md Nurul Abshar informed about the matter on Saturday afternoon.
Detained Md. Amir Hossain Prakash Sagar is the son of Md Faruq of Char West Jangalia under Mehendiganj Police Station in Barisal District.
RAB official Md Nurul Abshar said the operation was carried out at around 2pm on Friday after receiving information that some people were on the south side of the PHP mill on the Hathazari-Oxygen road for the purpose of buying and selling drugs. Md. Amir Hossain Prakash Sagar was arrested at that time. He said 1 foreign pistol, 1 magazine and 1 round of ammunition were recovered while being kept inside the waist of the sea.
He has been carrying out various terrorist activities in different areas of the district for a long time, with buying and selling illegal weapons. He was handed over to Bayazid Bostami Police Station along with the recovered weapons.
