Youth creates sensation by inventing drone

With a passionate zeal to become a Pilot, Salauddin Jony, son of a poor farmer of Ranishankoil upazila of Thakurgaon has developed a drone capable of flying in the sky.

It is learnt, Salauddin started to manufacture the small sized plane in 2017 and successfully develop a pilotless drone in September last year. The incident created a huge sensation among the people of Thakurgaon when Salahuddin successfully flew the large-sized drone in the sky. 

The invention of Salahuddin who has no institutional certificates from any university, has drawn attention of many elites of the district and Deputy Commissioner of Thakurgaon Dr. Kamruzzaman Selim has extended his hands for co-operation for Salauddin's invention. 

It is learnt, Salah Uddin Jony is a son of poor farmer of Balidara village of Ranishankail upazila. After completion of his higher secondary education from a local college, he is now studying in second year in the department of Agriculture at Bangabandhu ShiekhMujibur Rahman Science and Technology University in Gopalganj. 

In 2017, he experimentally developed a drone weighing 5 kilogramme with five feet in length. The drone was able to fly covering four kilometre of area for 35 minutes at a height of 1,000 feet. Later, he manfactures another small  drone with bamboo stick, wood, cork-sheet and foam sheet weighing one kilogramme only with a flying capacity of 40 minutes at a speed of 100-kilometre per hour with a 40-muinute stay in the sky covering five-kilometre of radius. Hundreds of people of the district are now visiting the roof of Deputy Commissioner's Office to have a lot at the flying robot developed by Salauddin.

Salahuddin sought government patronisation to make such drones and he hopes the government will allow him and other youngmen of the country to study at Bangabandhu Aerospace and Aeronautical University and hoped, the young sien tists of the country will be able to manufacture planes here. Dr. AKM Kamruzzaman Selim, Deputy Commissioner of Thakurgaon infor­med, Jony is an example that it is possible to invent some exceptional items with passionate will power. District Administration was assisting Jony at his work. A proposal seeking fund for the further research and activities by Salaudddin has bee sent to the Ministry of Science and Technology Ministry.  He hoped, the country and nation would be benefitted from the outcome of reaserach of Salahuddin.
