A young man of a Harinakundu village was chopped to death at broad day light at Bhabanipur village on Monday evening. The incident took place at about 6.30 PM on the day. The deceased was Milon Ahmed, 30, son of Ishaque Ali of Khalishakundu village in the upazila.
Harinakundu police station officer in-charge (OC) Asaduzzaman said Milan had rivalry with some Jewel, son of Motaleb Hossain of Balarampur village under Islamic University about four years back. Following the rivalry, Jewel had charged knife on the bodies of Milan at Bhabanipur Bazer severely.
He was rushed to Harinakundu upazila health complex (UHC), while the attending physician declared him dead. The police was preparing to file a case in this connection. The body will be sent to Jhenidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem examination. Killer Jewel had fled the scene immediate after the incident, OC said.
