A man was beaten to death by his brother-in-law at Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan on early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Shakil, 18, son of late Babul Mia, a resident of Kamrangirchar’s Asrafabad area. He used to sell juice at the park.
Shahin, elder brother of Shakil, said, ‘In the morning I heard that my brother Shakil and brother-in-law Babu had a fight.’ At one point, Babu hit Shakil in the back with an iron rod, critically injuring him, he said. Shakil was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, confirmed the incident.
