Yousuf Khan honoured with Amir Hossain Babu award

Yousuf Khan met National Film Award-winning dance director Amir Hossain Babu during the shooting of FI Manik's ‘Bishforon’ movie. Later Amir gave him the opportunity to work in group dance in Shah Alam Kiran's ‘Niyotir Khela’. Yousuf performed as a dancer in the film’s ‘Kon Beymanra Koi’.

Since then Yousuf has worked in more than 300 films. Yousuf Khan was honoured with the title of Best Dance Director at a ceremony which paid tribute to the memory of the man who helped him start his career. 

Yousuf Khan was honoured at a function organized by 'Amir Hossain Babu Dance Academy' at Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Thursday. Yousuf is very happy to receive the honor.

He said, ‘Respected Amir Hossain Babu is a valiant freedom fighter and a national film award winning dance director. I was given the honour of being the Best Dance Director from the Amir Hossain Babu Dance Academy established under his name.

For that I thank Allah and pray for the departed soul of late Amir Hussain Babu. I want to thank my friend Mehdi Hassan Little and everyone at the Amir Hossain Babu Dance Academy.’

He acted as a choreographer on various occasions, including Hasibul Islam Mizan's ‘Kopal’, ‘Tumi Acho Hridoye’, Bulbul Gilani's ‘Neel Achol’, AK Sohail's ‘Mayer Gaye Biyer Shari’, and Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond's 'Gangajatra'.
