Young writers urged to continue creative work

Cover of Mahbub’s book ‘Bhoot Sir’ unveiled

Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Prof Dr Shireen Akhter has said that she feels proud of her students’ creative work. She becomes very happy when she know that her students’ books are published. 

She told her students, ‘‘Your creative work, like publication of book, encourages us a lot. Such creative work raises hope. Continue such work in the future. I call upon my students as well as the young writers to continue such creative work.’’  

Prof Dr Shireen Akhter said these while speaking at the cover unveiling ceremony of a book ‘Bhoot Sir’, written by student of the university and CU Correspondent of Bangladesh Post Mahbub A Rahman. 

The cover unveiling ceremony was held at the conference room of the VC’s office on the campus on Sunday (January 17). Prof Shireen along with others formally unveiled cover of the book. CU Acting Registrar Prof SM Monirul Hasan, Proctor Dr Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan, CU Journalists Association’s president Imran Hossain and Secretary Munawar Riaz Munna were present at the time, among others.

‘Bhoot Sir’ is the third book of young writer Mahbub A Rahman which has been published on the occasion 2021 Book Fair. ‘Aksharbritta Prakashan’ published the book as the selected manuscript of the Children's Literature category competition-2020. 

It can be noted that Mahbub A Rahman is involved in writing from his childhood. 

Earlier, his two books were published and hit the market. He is currently a third year student at Chittagong University.
