Bangladesh Chhatra League is going to organize various programmes throughout the year on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the traditional student organization.
The main events will be celebrated from 4th January to 8th January. All other programmes will be held at convenient times. Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain announced the programme at a press conference at Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen on Tuesday around 12 noon.
Dhaka University Chhatra League General Secretary Tanveer Hasan Saikat informed Bangladesh Post about the programme and said that it includes hoisting of the national and party flags at the central office of the organization at 6 am on January 4, tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi at 8:30 am and cake cutting to celebrate the foundation anniversary at 9 o'clock in the Curzon Hall of the University of Dhaka as well as distribution of winter clothes among the winter-weary at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
On January 6 at 2.30 pm, the foundation anniversary procession will be brought out. On the occasion of the foundation anniversary on January 5-8, blood group determination, voluntary blood donation and distribution of collected blood and distribution of educational materials among students.
Under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, initiatives such as vegetable and fruit cultivation, fish and domestic animal husbandry at the ward level of the country will be undertaken.
An exchange programme titled 'United Student Society' in building Smart Bangladesh with the leaders of progressive student organizations will be held at a convenient time.
Apart from this, the 75th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League will be celebrated at a convenient time. There is the organization of a 'short film competition' on the development progress of national treasure Sheikh Hasina.
Nationwide competition on "Relevance of Smart Bangladesh to build Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla" with higher secondary level students and nationally "Smart Youth Camp" and establishment of libraries in party offices of all organizational units will be organised.
At all the university level 'Development Quiz', 'Women's Empowerment and Sheikh Hasina' speech competition on Female students will be held. Other programmes such as 'Sajib Wazed Joy Programming Contest', Smart Bangladesh', 'Smart Campus' and 'Olympiad' will also be held.
Smart Bangladesh, Our Country, Our Dream' poster presentation with award-winning ceremonies of different universities of the country with the Cha Chakra programme.
BCL general secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan, Dhaka University BCL president Mazharul Kabir Shayan, Dhaka University BCL general secretary Tanveer Hasan Saikat, Dhaka Metropolitan South BCL president Rajibul Islam Bappi and general secretary Sajal Kundu were present at the press conference.
