Mongla police arrested a drug dealer named Md. Samim Fakir, 28, with 15 pieces of yaba tablets in Mongla of Bagerhat on Sunday afternoon.
Samim is the son of Jahangir Fakir of Bashtali area under Mongla Upazila. He was held during a raid at Burirdanga area in the upazila by Mongla Police Station. According to police sources, during the ongoing anti-drug drive, under the direction of Mongla Police Station Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, SI Amit Kumar, along with SI Biswajit and other police members arrested Samim from Burirdanga area with yaba tablets.
A case has been filed under narcotics control act in this regard, said Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury. He added, that such raids against drug will continue.
