WUB arranges seminar on career planning in electro-mechanical field

Department of Mechatronics Engineering, World University of Bangladesh (WUB) arranged a seminar on “Career Planning in Electro-Mechanical Field” on Saturday in WUB main campus auditorium.

Professor Dr Abdul Mannan Choudhury, vice chancellor (VC), WUB was present in the seminar as the chief guest. Md Humayun Kabir, director, Electrical and Fire Engineering Department, Reliable Engineering and Solutions Ltd (RESL) was the keynote speaker in the seminar. Professor A K M Ziaul Islam, controller of Examinations, Professor Abdur Rouf, dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering were also attended the seminar.

The programme began with an introductory speech by Dr Mizanur Rahman, associate professor, Department of Mechatronics, WUB. The keynote speaker said “There is no alternative of skill for an engineering student. The students have to have technical skill including electrical and mechanical design, testing of electrical and mechanical parameters and equipment as well as communication skill including report writing, presentation skill etc.” He also said, “Project management skill is required while learning about standards is a must.”

According to him, for self-development, a student may engage in some useful training program besides academic involvement.

The seminar was followed by a question answer session and ended with a vote of thanks given by Farhan Mahbub, head, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, WUB. Students as well as faculty members of Department of Mechatronics Engineering were highly benefitted from the seminar.
