Eid-ul-Fitr special film featuring Shakib Khan titled ‘Password’ released on June 5 has been suffering from criticisms since its release. Recently, a written complaint has been submitted to the Bangladesh Film Censor Board by prominent film critic and activist Ananda Kutum on June 17.

Kutum has presented a written letter to the authorities of Bangladesh Film Censor Board stating eight points where he has urged the authorities to take effective measures against the film and the director also mentioning the fact that it is a copy of the Korean film ‘The Target’. He even went as far as to hand over a copy of the film to the censor board in the process.

The censor board has accepted the letter and regarding this Anada Kutum says, “We want to tell directors like Malek Afsari that there should be originality in films produced in the country.”

Regarding steps to be taken by the censor board, vice chairman Nizamul Kabir says, “If this issue is included in the agenda of our next meeting then we will surely discuss it. There are a number of options which are open right now. But the most prevalent step is for the scenes where the complaint of copying is predominant those scenes have to be edited out and the film is to be submitted to the censor board again.”

The next date of the censor board’s meeting has not yet been finalized. Information Secretary Abdul Malek who is the chairman of the censor board will declare the next meeting schedule.
