WOW festival held in Rangpur

The vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University of Rangpur Dr Sarifa Salwa Dina called on women to shine in their own light. She made this call while inaugurating the Women of the World-WOW Festival at the university's Independence Memorial Ground on Thursday. She said, we cannot hope that anyone will come forward for women. Success will come only if you work with strength in mind.

More than five thousand visitors enjoy this colorful festival with interest and enthusiasm during the day-long event. It consisted of panel discussions, workshops, speed mentoring, bites, marketplace and various cultural performances including traditional Bhawaya song, Saotali dance, Kushan Pala and poetry recitation of Rangpur region. After the concert Matan Channel I best vocal star, Asiya Islam Dola, daughter of Rangpur popular singer of the time. This mind-blowing arrangement lasts until many nights.

Earlier, the day-long event had various interesting segments. Four women of Rangpur division told the story of how they succeeded after overcoming various obstacles. They are Jamila Begum of Dinajpur Birganj. Locally known as Jamila Kasai. Being a woman, she had to overcome many obstacles in the society to establish herself in a different profession. She has established herself by ignoring everyone's bad words and all obstacles. Received honors and awards from various public and private institutions. Young entrepreneur of Rangpur city Umme Kulsoom Popi. This graduate student works regularly in fruit cultivation. Besides, she is working to ensure employment by providing job training to backward groups. She is happy to move forward with everyone. Nachima Zaman Bobby is the famous slogan daughter for politics. Rangpur Sadar Upazila Chairman elected two times in a row. Although she is a teacher by profession, she is a social worker by meditation and knowledge. Ensuring maternity care, driving training for divorced women and working towards self-reliance by providing training and loans to unemployed youth in agriculture and fisheries.

Despite being subjected to child marriage and later torture, one woman did not give up. By working in a private development organization, she has turned herself around. Along with that, she is working with the help of thousands of women who are victims of torture. At present Rangpur Mahanagara Jatiya Party's women affairs secretary Afroza Begum Rabeya.
