The Indian Assistant High Commission in Chattogram celebrated the 5th International Day of Yoga (IDY) through a programme at the Rifles Club Hall of the port city on Saturday. Several hundred people took part in the event at did Yoga together. Among others Chattogram City Corporation May AJM Nasir Uddin and Indian Assistant High Commissioner Shri Anindya Banerjee took part in the Yoga session.
Sports associations, Yoga associations and institutes, students from various schools, colleges and universities participated in the celebrations of IDY. Celebrities including sports personalities, cultural personalities including singers and actors also participated at the event. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. The theme of 2019 is ‘Climate Action’.
