The teachers and students of Islamic University (IU) in Kuhtia on Saturday observed the World Tourism Day-2019 on the campus amid festivity and enthusiasm.
Tourism and Hospitality Management department of the university chalked out a three day-long programme including rally, cleanliness campaign and painting on the campus.
As per previous declaration, the students have drawn the scenario of natural beauty at the feet of Mrittunjoee Mojib in front of the main entrance the campus on Friday.
On Saturday, chanting slogan ‘A better future for all’ the department brought out a colourful procession from the Business Administration faculty building of the university.
The rally was ended at the same place after parading the main roads of the campus
IU treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha led the procession as chief guest while acting registrar SM Abdul Latif, Business Administration faculty dean, Prof Dr Arabinda Saha attended here as special guests.
Among others, Librarian in charge M Ataur Rahman and lecturer Shoriful Islam Jewel, Rofiqul Islam Rakib and Jesmin Akther of Tourism and Hospitality department took part in the rally.
Later, they conducted a cleanliness campaign near the main gate of the university and over 200 hundred teachers, students and officials of the department took the campaign.
