World Teachers' Day celebrated in Raozan

The World Teachers' Day celebrated in Raozan on Saturday like elsewhere in the world. World Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on October 5.

Marking the day, a discussion, award giving ceremony and colourful rally were held.

The programme was held at Ramgati Dhar Ramdhan Dhar and Abdul Bari Chaudhury Model Government High School at 11:00am. Raozan College Principal Selim Newaj Choudhury presided over the programme.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ridowanul Islam was present as the chief guest. 

Upazila Assistant Education Officer Subot Kumar Hazari and Upazila Academic Supervisor Shajal Chandra Chanda were present as special guests. Noapara High School Headmaster Jane Alam moderated the programme where Kanchan Kumar Biswas, Jaker Hossain Master, Mostak Ahmed, Principal Maolana Abu Jafar Siddique, Syed Taher Uddin, Nurul Kabir, Priyom Kumar Dey, Shekhar Ghosh, Shubol Chandra Das, Shilpi Dey, Jamal Shah, Bilash Kanti Das, Sarfari Dey, Nesar Ahmed and others spoke.

The speakers said there should be a different salary structure for the teachers. Stimuli should be provided as the recognition of good performance. The security of the teachers should be ensured.

Several teachers were awarded with crests for their contribution. The colourful rally was brought out from the school ground and paraded several roads of the Upazila. Many teachers took part at the rally.
