World Soil Day was observed in the district as well as elsewhere in the country and the globe on Tuesday.
This year's theme of the day was “Soil and Water: A Source of Life”.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Naser Bhuiyan presided over the discussion that was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Md Masudur Rahman, Additional Police Super ATM Mainul Islam, Training Officer of district Department of Agricultural Extension Dr Yasin Ali and Chief Scientific Officer of Soil Resource Management Md Shohidul Islam.
Earlier, a grand rally was brought out from the district Collectorate Building and that ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town.
