World Population Day celebrated in Jamalpur

World Population Day was celebrated in Jamalpur with colorful arrangements.  Deputy Commissioner Sravasti Roy was present as the chief guest at the discussion meeting and certificate distribution ceremony after the rain interrupted procession on Thursday morning, July 21.  

Md. Mazharul Haque Chowdhury, deputy director of the institution, presided over the program organized by the district family planning department.  The theme of this year's population day was a world of 800 crores: building a vibrant future by ensuring everyone's opportunities, choices and rights. 

Among others, Assistant Director of Family Planning Ali Amjad Daptari, Dr. Asadul Haque, District Fisheries Officer Khalekuzzaman, Civil  Dr. Swagat Saha, representative of the surgeon, Jahangir Salim, director of Human Resources Development of the Development Association, Asaduzzaman, district officer of APPAB, etc.  

Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Family Planning Officer Majedul Haque conducted the program. After the discussion meeting, congratulations were given for achieving excellence in 4 out of 10 categories in Jamalpur district at the Mymensingh divisional level.  The awardees are Jamalpur Mother and Child Welfare Center, Digpait Union Parishad, Melandah Surya Hasi Clinic, Assistant Community Medical Officer Md. Jamal Uddin.  

Apart from this, crests and honors were given to the best in different categories at the district level. Before the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sravasti Roy inaugurated various activities to celebrate the day by blowing a bunch of colorful balloons in the premises of the district family planning office.  Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Moklechur Rahman was present at this time.
