Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) has celebrated 'World Milk Day-2024' through various programmes.
The day was celebrated by CVASU Dairy and Poultry Science Department on Saturday.
On this occasion, a colourful procession was taken out in the university campus. The procession was led by CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Lutful Ahsan. Students, teachers, officials and employees of the university participated in it.
At the end of the procession, a 'Drink Milk' program was held at the CVASU auditorium. After that, seminars and discussions were held in the CVASU auditorium.
CVASU Dairy and Poultry Science Department Head Professor Dr AKM Humayun Kabir presided over the meeting. CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Lutful Ahsan addressed the seminar and discussion meeting as the chief guest.CVASU Treasurer Professor Dr Md. Kamal, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean Professor Dr Mohammad Lutfur Rahman and Director (Research and Extension) Professor Dr SKM Azizul Islam spoke as special guests. Nahar Agro Group Managing Director Md. Rakibur Rahman spoke as the guest of honour.
CVASU Dairy and Poultry Science Department Head Professor Dr. AKM Humayun Kabir presented the keynote speech in the meeting. Dairy and Poultry Science Department Professor Gautam Kumar Debnath delivered the welcome address.
CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Lutful Ahsan said, "World Milk Day" is celebrated on June 1 every year to increase awareness about the importance and benefits of milk and milk products.
As we all know, milk is a complete food. It contains all the necessary elements to meet the nutritional needs of the body including protein, vitamins, calcium and minerals. Moreover, milk helps in the physical and mental development of children. So awareness should be increased about the importance and benefits of milk and milk products.
Various programs organised on the occasion of World Milk Day were attended by Dean of Food Science and Technology Faculty Prof Dr Ferdousi Akhtar, Dean of Fisheries Faculty Prof Dr Sheikh Ahmad-al-Nahid, Director (Student Welfare) Prof Dr Md. Ashraf Ali Biswas, Director (External activities) Professor Dr AKM Saifuddin, Director (Firm) Dr Md. Saiful Bari and Director (Planning and Development) Professor Dr. Mohammad Alamgir Hossain.
