The World Diabetes Day-2023 was observed in the country as elsewhere in the globe on Tuesday (November 14) in a befitting manner to make the people aware about the disease.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Diabetes: know your risk, know your response’.
Different organisations observed the day amid various programmes in Dhaka and other parts of the country.
On the occasion, the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, Evercare Hospital and some others have taken multifaceted activities, including creating awareness for prevention and control of diabetes.
The Diabetic Association of Bangladesh observed an awareness programme on diabetes across the country. The association distributed posters and leaflets.
The Diabetic Association observed a sit-in programme in the city in the morning on Tuesday where representatives from various organisations participated.
A discussion was also held at the auditorium of BIRDEM Hospital in the city. Rasheda K Chowdhury, an adviser to the former caretaker government, attended the discussion as the chief guest where Professor Md Faruk Pathan presented the keynote paper.
