World Cup champions given warm reception in Bogura


Tanjid Hasan Tamim and Tauhid Hriday, two of the Under-19 World Cup champions Bangladesh team have been welcomed in Bogra. 

When they reached Bogura Banani on Thursday afternoon, they were welcomed with flowers. With police security they were brought to Bogura city centre at Satmatha with the flying national flag placed in front of their car. The crowed of cricket fans there were delighted to have these two proud sons of Bogura amongst them.  Members of the District Sports Association distribute sweets among  everyone present, including Tamim-Hriday. 

"We are very happy with this achievement," said Tamim to the crowd. "This victory is not only ours, but is the victory of 160 million people in this country". He also said, "Muslem Sir, our cricket teacher, recently has died. We heard the news from South Africa. It felt really bad. We want prayers from everybody for Muslem Sir. We two, along with cricketers and sports organizers of Bogura will arrange prayer ceremony for Muslim Sir. All of you will be there". 

Bogura Shahid Chandu Stadium's Venue Manager Jamilur Rahman Jamil informed, "A public reception will be organized on behalf of our district sports association." District Sports Association Vice-President Alhaj Sheikh, members Jamilur Rahman, Al Raji Jewel, Arifur Rahman Arif, Swapan, Alea along with other leaders were present at this ceremony. 

Among the players, Tamim was a student at Bogura Zilla School. His village home is in Fazilpur village of Digdair union of Sonatola upazila. And the village house of Hriday is in the village of Nanglu in Dakshinpara union of Gabtali upazila.
