The World Consumer Rights Day-2022 was observed in Cumilla district as elsewhere in the country on Tuesday with a call to protect the consumers' rights.
This year's theme of the day is 'Fairness in Digital Finance'. Marking the day, the district administration, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection and Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) jointly chalked out the various programmes in the district.
A discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the deputy Commissioner (DC) office while Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Shahadat Hossain was present as the chief guest.
Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department Md. Asadul Islam, Cumilla Chamber of Commerce Director Md. Jamal Ahmed, Cumilla Shop Owners Association General Secretary Atiq Ullah Khokon, Journalist Abul Hasnat Babul, among others, were present on the occasion.
