World Consumer Rights Day observed

The World Consumer Rights Day was observed on Friday in the district as elsewhere in the country and the globe with a call to protect consumers' rights anyhow everywhere.

 Marking the day, district administration and Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection jointly chalked out elaborate programmes.

This year's theme of the day is 'Smart Bangladesh Gori, Voktar Sarthey Krittim Buddhimotta Bebohar Kori'.

On the occasion of the day, a rally was brought out from in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office which paraded the important streets and ended coming in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner office this morning.

After the rally, a discussion was held on the occasion at the Conference Room of Deputy Commissioner office while Additional Superintendent of Police Sarafat Islam addressed the function as the special guest with Additional District Magistrate Md. Mezbaul Karim in the chair.

Iftekharul Alam Rizvi, Assistant Director of Bogura District Office of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, delivered the welcome speech.

Chuadanga Correspondent says:  The World Consumer Rights Day was observed in Chuadanga under the auspices of District Administration on March 15.  A discussion meeting on the theme of `Build Smart Bangladesh, Use artificial Intelligence in the Interest of Consumers’ was arranged at Deputy Commissioner Conference Room with Kobir Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ICT and Edn.), in the chair. Riajul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Admin.) was present as special guest. 

Sojol Ahmed, Assistant Director of Chuadanga Consumer Rights Protection Department, presented a note paper on anti-activities of consumer rights and penalties of criminals through multi-media at the discussion. 

 Rajib Hasan Kochi, President of Chuadanga Press Club, Ibrul Hasan Joarder Ibu, General Secretary of Dukan Malik Samity and Bellal Hossain, General Secretary of Chuadanga District Unit of Non-consumer Association took part discussion on the issue.

 Chapainawabganj Correspondent reports:  The World Consumer Rights Day was observed  in Chapainawabganj. On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Friday  morning.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Anishur Rahman chaired the discussion meeting as Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner AKM Ghaliv Khan.

Additional Superintendent of Police Abul Kalam Sahid, Additional District Magistrate Asif Ahmed, Sadar UNO Tashmina Khatun, Senior Vice President of Chapainawabganj Chamber Mashiul Karim Babu spoke as special guests in the discussion session under the theme 'Smart Bangladesh Gari-Consumer's interest'. Market Monitoring Committee Representative Shahidul Islam, Cab District General Secretary Abdur Rahim, Media Representative Azizur Rahman Shishir, Sanitary Inspector Kobad Ali and others.

Meat traders, fish traders, restaurant owners association, raw market traders association and representatives of various government departments and journalists working in the district were present.

Mehedi Hasan Tanveer, Assistant Director of National Consumer Rights rotection Directorate, Shamima Laiju Nila, President of Consumers Association of Bangladesh Natore District unit and Educationist Subidh Kumar Maitra, among others, spoke at the function.
