Workshop on Press Council Act held in Munshiganj

Bangladesh Press Council organized a training workshop on "Press Council Act and Code of Conduct and Right to Information Act" with the participation of Dhaka's print and electronic media journalists.

The workshop was held on Wednesday at the Bangladesh Press Council Auditorium.

Chairman of Bangladesh Press Council Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim inaugurated the workshop. The training workshop was started with a recitation from the Quran by Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain, Superintendent of Bangladesh Press Council.

Secretary of Bangladesh Press Council Md. Shah Alam shed light on various issues including what is information, rules of use of information. He answered various questions of journalists participating in the workshop. Then the chief guest Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim discussed the background, history, goals and objectives of the press council and the activities of the press council. He also answered various questions of the press councilor on legal issues. Shyamal Dutta, member of Bangladesh Press Council and Editor of Dainik Bhorer paper, participated in the discussion on journalist's code of conduct and what to do. In his discussion, Shyamal Dutt highlighted the principles, social impact and harmful aspects of using social media in the age of technology. In this regard, he discussed the various practical aspects of the policies adopted and the issues to be done by journalists

The chief guest thanked everyone and announced the end of the discussion session of the training workshop.

After that, the day-long training workshop organized by Bangladesh Press Council ended with the distribution of certificates. About 50 journalists from Munshiganj, Kushtia and Jhenaidah districts participated in the workshop. 12 journalists from Munshiganj Reporters Unity and Munshiganj District Online Press Club participated in this workshop. They are Munshiganj District Online Press Club President Kazi Biplab Hasan, Joint General Secretary Md Mostafa, Member Kazi Mohammad, Munshiganj Reporters Unit Vice President Nazmul Hasan Milan, General Secretary Md Robel, Organizational Secretary Shahnaz Begum, Finance Secretary Farhad Mia, Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Salman Hasan, Religion Secretary Momin Bishabas, Education Secretary Md Masud Khan, Women Affairs Secretary Nasima Sultana Rita and Member Raihan Sardar.
