A workshop for building awareness on Personal Health and Hygiene in adolescent organised by Social Marketing Company (SMC)-Rajshahi78 was held at Ishwardi Girls School and College in Ishwardi on Thursday. UNO of Ishwardi upazila Shihab Raihan was delivered his speech as the chief guest while Chief of SMC Enterprise of Bogura region Md Shafiqul Islam was presided over the programme.
At that time, Medical Officer of Upazila Health and Family Planning Dr Asma Khan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Abdul Latif, Secondary Education Officer Selim Akhter, Academic Supervisor Ariful Islam, Sales Manager of SMC Rajshahi region Habibur Rahman, Senior Executive of Rajshahi Area Office Jahangir Alom along with other were also present.
Md Shafiqul Islam said, only 15 percent women are using Sanitary napkins which are made of scientific method. Rest, 85 are using old, dirty and torn clothes.
To make awareness on this issue, this is the first time SMC has organised such kind of event in Ishwardi. Nearly 800 female students have been gotten Sanitary napkin name Joya at this time, he added.
