A day-long training workshop titled “Induction to Laboratory Safety for Post-Graduate Students” was held at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).
The workshop was organized on Sunday by the university’s Poultry Research and Training Centre (PRTC). A total of 25 postgraduate students from the university participated in the training session.
The closing ceremony was attended by the CVASU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, as the chief guest. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. A K M Humayun Kabir, Director of PRTC.
In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that the training would play a significant role in preparing students for working in advanced laboratories at international universities for higher studies. He emphasized the importance of laboratory safety knowledge in global research environments.
At the end of the program, certificates were distributed among the participants by the Vice-Chancellor.
The training sessions were conducted by Professor Dr. A K M Humayun Kabir, Professor Dr. Abdul Ahad, Professor Dr. Sohel Al Faruk, Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Md. Inkeyaz Uddin, and Dr. Asadul Ghani, Head of the Biosafety Office at International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b).
