A two-day workshop titled ‘Implementation of National Integrity Strategy and Annual Performance Agreement’ has started with the teachers and officials of Dhaka University (DU) at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building on Friday (November 19).
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the inaugural ceremony of the workshop while Chairman of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Dr Kazi Shahidullah spoke as the chief guest.
Bangladesh University Grants Commission member Professor Md Abu Taher and Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Muhammad Samad and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof ASM Maqsood Kamal spoke as special guests. Registrar of DU Prabir Kumar Sarkar conducted the prgramme.
UGC Chairman Professor Dr Kazi Shahidullah in his speech said, “Moral decay is being noticed in our society. So etiquette has become an important issue in our society now. We have to work with transparency, dedication and honesty in all fields to establish good governance in the country. In order to move the country and the nation forward, the national integrity strategy has to be implemented by following the government policy properly.”
Vice- Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman said, “Integrity strategy helps us to take right steps and decisions by following proper rules and regulations. Integrity techniques have brought a big change in our thinking world. It is better to proceed gradually in an evolutionary way in implementing the strategy of righteousness.”
Noting that the annual work plan is a strong regulator of integrity strategy, he said that the work plan must be adopted and implemented within the stipulated time frame. The vice-chancellor appealed to all concerned to move the university forward with integrity, dedication and efficiency.
It is to be noted that the two-day workshop is being attended by Deans of different faculties of the university, directors of institutes, hall chairpersons, department chairmen, office heads and officials.
