Training workshop on implementation of Tobacco Control Act held at Meherpur on Wednesday.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with the National Tobacco Control Cell at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room at around 11:00am. Legal measures to reduce the use of tobacco and tobacco products, law enforcement and other aspects were discussed at the workshop.
Deputy Commissioner of the district Md Shamim Hasan presided over the workshop. Rokeya Begum, Joint Secretary, Nursing and Midwifery Division, Health Department was virtually present as the chief guest in the training workshop.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shamim Bhuiyan presented the keynote. Medical Officer of Meherpur Civil Surgeon Office Dr Inzamul Haque made the presentation.
Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer and Acting Civil Surgeon Dr Alok Kumar Das spoke at the event. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sarbik Tanveer Hasan Ruman, Roni Alam Noor, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kazi Najib Hasan, Mujibnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Khairul Islam, Meherpur Press Club President Fazlul Haque, Sadar Upazila Sanitary Inspector Tariqul Islam and others were present on the occasion.
