A daylong workshop on human rights of domestic workers was held in the town on Thursday.
Unnayan Sangaha, a non-government organisation, under the join auspicious of European Union and Oxfam arranged the workshop at its training room at Deurpar Chandra area in Jamalpur municipality area.
In the meeting, the speakers said present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina established human rights in every corner of the society.
The government made protection guideline for the under-privileged domestic workers in 2015 and also implementing various programmes for their uplift and dignity of work, they added.
Director of the organisation Zahangir Selim presided over the workshop while its Project Coordinator Jyotsna Aktar presented the keynote papers.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Minirul Islam, Lawyer Nuruzzaman, Union Parishad member Nayeb Ali, Journalist Mukhlesur Rahman, Teacher Faridul Islam, Imam Tariqul Islam and domestic worker Parul Aktar spoke, among others, at the workshop.
A total of 25 people including domestic worker, Imam, public representative, teacher and journalist took part in the workshop.
